For many investors who don’t have the benefit of 20 years of experience in Asia like I do, figuring out what Beijing is up to is both puzzling and difficult.

But a handy little tool called a “Form 13F” can help.

In case you’re not familiar with it, the 13F is a disclosure document that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires institutional-investment managers to file when they hold $100 million or more of certain U.S.-listed stocks.

China’s $300 billion sovereign … [visit site to read more]

McDonald's Corporation's (MCD) comparable sales for January 2010 showed a sluggish growth of 2.6% as against a rise of 7.1% in the same month last year, exposing its sensitivity to heavy job losses, economic conditions, and the discount war amongst fast-food chains to lure consumers.

Rising Lumber Prices And Positive D.R. Horton Report May Not Indicate An Immediate Rebound In Homebuilder Stocks « Money Morning »

Posted: 11 Feb 2010 06:04 AM PST

Crude oil, gold, steel and commodity stocks have all taken it on the chin to varying degrees so far this year.

But not every commodity has suffered this same tough fate. In fact, there’s even been a major standout. It’s a commodity that most investors rarely think about.

I’m talking about lumber.

Raw lumber prices have zoomed more than 25% this year, even though the home construction business - its main use - has been scrambling along at record lows. This is a rather stunning … [visit site to read more]

S&P 500: The 1070 Level Looms Large…Again « Bill Luby »

Posted: 11 Feb 2010 05:01 AM PST

Like any stock index, from time to time the S&P 500 index seems to hand pick a number and make it an important support and resistance level. Sometimes these lines in the sand are ephemeral and sometimes they persist for extended periods.

Take SPX 1070, for instance. Back in October 2009, SPX 1070 was the exact midpoint in the SPX trading range I talked about in Strangle Pong and two subsequent posts (see links below.)

Forex Trading: EURUSD Testing/falling? Below The 100 Hour MA As NY Enters In Snowy NY « Greg Michalowski »

Posted: 11 Feb 2010 04:27 AM PST

EU Van Rompuy is on the newswires saying he fully supports the measures of the Greek government. HOwever, he reminded the market that the Greek government will need to act decisively and that they should cut the budget deficit/GDP by 4% in 2010. This will slow growth in the country and the EU in general. It will also come with some opposition from the Greek population.
So the EURUSD has fallen to a new low on the day at the 1.3707 level. This is below the 100 hour MA currently at the … [visit site to read more]

With these factors along with my Elliott Wave patterns … [visit site to read more]
