Forex Trading: GBP/USD Longer Term Perspective

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 08:38 AM PST

From time to time, its good to look at longer term technicals, to get an idea of where the market is over a period of weeks and even years. Looking at the GBP/USD on a weekly chart, there are a few things to note. First, adding a Fibonacci from the high in November 2007 to the low in January of 2009, the 38.2% retractment level comes in at 1.6427. This level resisted the trend higher and the pair never made it to the 100 week moving average. That is not to say that the GBP/USD didn't go … [visit site to read more]

#China - China Could Fall Into A Great Depression

Posted: 17 Feb 2010 08:17 AM PST

By Dr. Steve Sjuggerud

Is it possible? Could China be on the brink of a Great Depression?

Most experts would say, “No way.” They would point to China’s trillions of U.S. dollars in reserves as their Exhibit A and say, “Case closed.”

Countries use reserves to back their liabilities… like their currencies. Think of it like having a huge balance in your savings account. If you’ve got all that cash, you’re not likely going under, right?

But one expert recently made an interesting case for a … [visit site to read more]

Five Critical Differences Between EEM And VWO

Emerging markets have been one of the hottest investment trends in recent years, as U.S. investors have begun to question assumptions about the relative risk profiles of advanced and developing economies in the wake of the recent global recession. Ironically, the life-or-death picture it painted did a good job of capturing how, just about, the entire gaming industry must feel these days amid slumping sales and equally weak stocks.
The one exception to the rule – Nintendo ADR (OTC: NTDOY) – sold an admirable 3.8 million Wii units in the U.S. back in December, not to mention large numbers of Wii Sports … [visit site to read more]
