Forex Trading: GBPUSD Has Been Under Pressure. Trades Below 100 Hour MA « Greg Michalowski » Posted: 10 Feb 2010 06:51 AM PST The GBPUSD is trading below the 100 hour MA after spiking higher earlier on the back of better economic data. The BOE Inflation Report sent the pair back down however, as they lowered inflation and growth expectations. This led to speculation that the central bank would have to pump more money into the system. The BOE paused the 200 billion asset purchase program but may have to reinstate the measures in the future given the forecast. Of concern as well is the election in May … [visit site to read more]
Five Defensive ETFs To Own When The Market Corrects « Michael Johnston » Posted: 10 Feb 2010 06:47 AM PST Still scarred by memories of the not-so-distant recession, many investors have been spooked by recent volatility in equity markets, wondering if they should bail on the market before another double dip. But even fresher are the memories of the bull market of 2009, especially for those who regretfully watched from the sidelines as equity markets soared. The psychological battle between fear of loss and anxiety over the potential regret of missing out on another rally plays out differently for … [visit site to read more]

Ten IShares ETFs Every Investors Should Know (But Most Don’t) « Michael Johnston » Posted: 10 Feb 2010 06:38 AM PST San Francisco-based iShares, which was acquired by BlackRock from Barclays last year, has more than 180 U.S.-listed ETFs. But the distribution of assets is far from even across these funds. At the end of 2009, the ten largest iShares ETFs–only about five percent of the issuer's product line–accounted for 50% of total assets. So there's obviously a lot more to the iShares product line than the handful of mega-tickers–(IVV), (EFA), (TIP), and (AGG), just to name a few–that … [visit site to read more]

Posted: 10 Feb 2010 06:17 AM PST Needless to say there is many crosswinds from the EU/Greece situation. The Pavlovian reaction is if there is a bailout, the EURUSD goes up. No bailout the EURUSD goes down. What happens after a final decision - which brings into the forefront the moral hazard debate- is what is of a concern for traders.
