Isis Drug Phase III Data Published

Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISIS) and Genzyme Corp. (NASDAQ:GENZ) recently announced the publication of phase III data on mipomersen in The Lancet. The data was published from a study that was conducted in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (hoFH).

Industry sources rumored that Polycom Inc. (NASDAQ:PLCM), the largest manufacturers of unified collaborative solutions, is likely to be privatized soon. PPI Falls More Than Expected

In February, the Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 0.6%, a far bigger decline than the 0.2% drop expected by the consensus of forecasts. However, all of the decline came from a bigger-than-expected fall in Energy prices. The core index, which strips out the volatile food and energy components rose by 0.1%, which was in line with forecasts.

Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC), the second largest cable MSO of the U.S. is quickly expanding its wideband coverage using high-speed DOCSIS 3.0 technology leveraging its fiber-optic network. Illinois Tool Offers Bright Outlook

Recently, Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE:ITW) reported a year-on-year increase of 10% in total operating revenue for the three months ended Feb 28, 2010. 

Base revenues contributed 2% to revenue growth, and acquisitions and currency translation added 2% and 6%, respectively. The improvement in base revenue was largely due to increased production by global automotive manufacturers as well as modest improvement in the industrial packaging and polymers and fluids end-markets.

Medtronic Inc. (NYSE:MDT) has received several complaints from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the company's study of a new pacemaker that can be used in a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine. The FDA has raised concerns over the small population size and missing data in the study.
