Better than median forecast of  57.0.  Highest read since September 1994. UK November mortgage approvals 48,019, better than median forecast of 47,000. November mortgage lending 0.788 bln, pretty much as expected. Cable has continued advance, presently at 1.5620.

In recent trade. Not that it's doing very much, presently at 1.5475.  And it's Thailand not Korea. Thai authorities overnight intervened to try to arrest stengthening of baht, so here again we're seeing reserve diversification.
